Bar Wotever is the premiere performance night out in London.
Expect the unexpected.
‘Bar Wotever has become an important part of the international queer community over the last ten years. From its permanent home at the iconic RVT, and set up and run with community at its heart, it is cherished as a place for people of diverse genders and sexualities to meet, find friends and feel at home. It has also become renowned for cutting edge entertainment and performance, discussion and talks from around the globe. Fun, friendly and feisty; Bar Wotever is like nowhere else in London and going from strength to strength after a decade of bringing queers and friends together.Bar Wotever is the most amazing diverse performance space.’
Every Tuesday at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern the doors open at 7pm, the show starts at 8:30pm and we dance until midnight.
Every week is different – with two open mic slots every week even those running it do not know what may happen.
Bar Wotever is about performance – dance, music, spoken word, performance art, drag – anything and everything goes.
If you are a performer, this is the best test audience, bar non. They have seen everything and are respectful, and attentive, and happy to give feedback.

We also run Open Decks – for an hour from 7:30 to 8:30pm under the tutelage of DJ Jo Bunny we have Open Decks – where *you* can come and play your music – Jo Bunny will teach you (or give you a refresher) on using the decks. The only rule is “Play the music you want to hear”
There is nothing better than playing the music you love and getting people coming up wanting to know more about what you played – I introduced Bar Wotever to NZ HipHop!
– DJ Putsch
You haven’t experienced classical music until you’ve heard it played on a hollowed out butternut squash with a piece of hollowed out carrot as a mouthpiece. The wonders of Vauxhall.
In a city so big, you have to find a little piece that you can call your own. Some small corner to go when the enormity becomes too much. For me that place is Bar Wotver. A night of glitter and extravagance, hosted every Tuesday night at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Set up by an eccentric Swedish person who I can only assume is made out of glitter and magic, it was my first full education of all things queer. I could not have picked a better place to learn. A fantastical extravaganza of Drag Kings and Queens, absurdists, musicians, and those who simply want a place to call home. Together, we have created a family. It is all inclusive, welcoming, and, of course, FABULOUS!

Left Bar Wotever’s 10th birthday at the RVT last night elated and inspired –Ingo Cando and all the other partners in the club have created a truly creative, truly diverse, truly progressive space where being relaxed, being expressive and being engaged in the wider world all go together. It’s a bona fide institution and something all Londoners should be incredibly proud of. Fab turns too!
